Grinding or Full Removal: Which Do You Need?
Grinding is usually cheaper and less disruptive than complete removal. A stump grinder breaks down the stump crown and can treat selected surface roots. Most of the deeper root system remains underground and naturally decays over time. It is a good option for areas being prepared for laying turf, garden beds or light landscaping.
Full tree stump removal, on the other hand, involves digging out the stump and a much larger section of its roots. It does create more mess and may require excavation equipment than grinding. However, it can be the better choice before building, installing footings or placing services through the site.

Why You Should Not Leave a Stump in the Ground

What Happens After We Grind?
Once the tree stump has been ground, the site will contain a mixture of soil and wood chips. We can use this material to backfill the hole or remove it and add suitable fill. The ground may settle as the remaining roots decay. Therefore, more soil may be needed later. Our team can usually lay turf after the area is levelled, if desired.
